At what age do you start giving your kids vitamins? Ds is 14 months. Since he was about 10 months he won't eat unless he can pick it up himself. So he gets a lot of hot dogs, chicken nuggets, cheese cubes, the gerber raviolis and that's about it. He won't eat any fruits other than bananas and most veggies don't Appel to him. I worry he's getting proper nutrition. He gets milk with breakfast and dinner otherwise its water. Sometimes he gets half juice half water but not often. Is he too young for vitamins for pedasure or anything? We don't have insurance right now so I don't have a dr to ask.
Both my kids had pediasure about that age....have you tried pasta spirals and other things you can make yourself? Those gerber raviolis are not healthy at all lol full of sodium.
I give them the kids gummies vitamins. They love it.
I have been giving my son multivitimin drops since birth. I just buy the "Poly Vi Soy" drops (as reccomended by the pediatrician) that are sold about everywhere, they come in a purple box and add a dropper full to his milk in the morning. My guy is 17 m/o and I dont feel that he is ready for chewable or gummy vitamins yet so we have not moved on to that. Did you ever give the liquid drops?
I would give him milk more than just once a day. Theres alot of foods you should try...diced avocado, cut up grapes, pasta, rice, chicken, etc. I think its fine to give him pediasure but try introducing healthier foods too.
I would only give healthy snacks until son stops being so picky! lol, I mean that in all good humor and honesty, my mom did that with us and we learned quick to eat what was good for us or not eat :) Eventually he will get hungry enough the good stuff will taste yummy! (I'm not saying starve him, but just give him options of simple stuff like green beans, peas, cooked carrots, ect. and don't even let him see the other options to tempt him to throw a fit.) -hope all goes well!
