I have 7 kids and NEVER even heard of an anterior placenta until this pregnancy (and only because the placenta is anterior this pregnancy). I wouldn't consider it general knowledge at all! and this is far from my first rodeo..

ya it was sad for me. I was like omg my second I'm going to feel him/her right away then nothing for that long. I was bummed.

They're telling me I have an anterior placenta but it's almost between fundal and anterior. Does that mean it could be a while before I feel the baby this time around? I felt DD at 17 weeks, but I'm at 17w5d and I don't even feel pregnant.

Any book or website I've ever checked out on pregnancy noted placenta positions and what they meant for pregnancy. I learned this stuff in high school, years before I ever had DD.

16w with my first.
and like 13w with my second. I had an anterior placenta with him too so I only felt him down low at first until he got bigger and then I could feel him everywhere for the most part.

It is pretty scarey! I asked my OB why I wasn't feeling movement at 19 weeks, that's when she told me, otherwise I wouldn't have known..of course I did some reading up on it after that. This is the 1st time I have ever experienced it, after 7 pregnancies. Feeling baby move a lot more now, but I still worry when some time goes by, and I don't feel movement.

Yes. Some women who have it still feel baby but I'm not even kidding you, I barely felt DD throughout the entire pregnancy. I couldn't even try to do kick counts! :( I really depended on those hiccups and how I.could see her limbs sticking out and moving occasionally.

Not everybody reads about placenta positions! I was more concerned about the growth and development of my baby, especially given the fact that I had no need for concern when I felt fetal movement earlier in previous pregnancies..

It's freaky, I thought it was because I still haven't really healed from my C-Section with DD. A pretty big area around my scar tissue is still numb, so I thought "maybe my uterus is numb?"

I was about 20 weeks with DS1, about 17 weeks with DD, 15 weeks with DS2 and this one was about 18 weeks I think. This one I didn't feel for sure until after I found out about my placenta previa at 17 weeks.
