Just breathe! Every thing will be over before you know it! I hope everything goes smooth for you!

Its not as bad as you are playing it out in your mind. Just relax and breathe. I am sure you can tell them you dont want the iv but if you are being induced more than likely you need pitocin and thats through an iv.

It's really not that bad. I got there at 6 and the nurse got the IV started then the doctor came in a 7:30 broke my water and I started feeling contractions at about 8. I had my daughter at 3:31 that afternoon. The only thing that really bothered me was when I got the epidural. It was a lot of pressure and it didnt work as well for me as it does for others. Just relax. I was so excited to me my little girl the pain was the last thing on my mind when I got to the hospital.
I hope your induction goes smoothly. Good Luck! :D

Well hopefully everything goes smoothly for you. I am terrified of needles but just knowing that they sticking me so I would have my little girl in my arms soon was enough to get me through it. Plus once they are in you dont feel them anymore at least I didnt. If it comes time to get the iv just focus on something else or on someone.

They have to have an IV in order to put the pitocin in your system...it's not something you can drink.
