fml, amoxicillin and yeast infections TMI mommommommyma 2 kids; 2 angel babies; Armenia 1116 posts5th May
Tmi!!!!! To make a long story short, went to th er, diagnosed with strep ( YAAAAAYYY :-\ ) they prescribed me amoxicillin. Well it gives me the absolute worst yeast infection you could possibly ever imagine, so they also prescribed me diflucan. The doctor said though to take the diflucan after I'm finished with my antibiotics, but hell by the time my antibiotics are over I'm gonna have a yeast infection so bad I may be able to actually male some bread ( gave you a awful image didn't it ). So my question is, for the ladies who have took diflucan, would you say it works pretty good/fast ?

Why not go get some cream from the store to relieve the symptoms till you're done with the antibiotics. That's what I always did. And then treated after the antibiotics were done.

I had to go through 2 rounds of diflucan to get rid of a yeast infection in my b**bs(thrush) so yea, if you take it & use creams it should work pretty quick

I had thrush and Diflucan knocked it out pretty fast. But I agree, relieve symptoms until you're done with the antibiotics... because if they give you yeast infections and you're taking medicine to get rid of it, it seems counterproductive to do both at the same time. Like, you'll just get rid of it for it to come right back.
