I have yet to be bashed for not circ'ing, then again, I didn't really ask anyone else's opinion. SO was strongly against cutting, he himself is uncut, and I didn't really care either way. I knew that it's simply cosmetic, and there's no need, so why worry about it? Like everyone else says, it's not their business.

I look at it like this, Would you wax your daughters eye brows at birth or even 2-3 because it "looked better"? Of course not!!! Why cut the skin when it is nt medically necessary!!!!! I did not and I would not circumcise my son unless it became medically necessary!

I personally think circumcision is unethical and would never do it.

I don't get how the removal of body hair is anything close to circumcising lol

I think her point is that circumcision is a cosmetic procedure (excluding those who do it for religious purposes, obviously), as is waxing to remove body hair....maybe....

Waxing is completely different than removing skin. That would be like why cut your child's hair to make them look better?!
Why use photoshop when you are trying to encourage your child to have good self esteem?
Why eat candy when you can eat fruit?

My husband is from Mexico where there are no doctors for miles near his house and no money to afford it. Obviously he knows how to take care of himself and all of that but with our son, he asked my dad his opinion (there's 12 of us) and my dad obviously has experience. He said "Get it. No question. My father had to get circumcised at 56 because he didn't clean it and got an infection." So we did.
I DO NOT REGRET IT AT ALL. Now he doesn't have to stress about not cleaning (one day without cleaning an uncirced p***s and it smells horrendous and has all types of stuff going on) and worrying about infections.
My sons circ took one week to heal (I highly recommend A&D) and i now have less stress about teaching him to clean and maintain.
YOUR kids and YOUR choice. If another mother wants to bash you tell her where to shove her opinion.

i think it's unnecessary cosmetic surgery. there is no need for it. all those "pros" are made up by pro-circers. it is not cleaner, it is not healthier. it does not protect against STDs, cancer, ect.
