Sounds silly, really. I mean, I don't recommend at home dopplers as they're not fine tuned, but US's at dr's offices are really helpful in diagnosing problems that can't be seen otherwise.

It didn't sway me to ask my doctor not to use the u/s or doppler. To each their own if that's what they want.

To each their own i suppose, but I have an U/S done every 2 weeks while pregnant. Sometimes more than that. I am glad that we have the technology that allows dr's to monitor my issues thoroughly.

I'm against at home dopplers for a number of reasons. That said, I do enjoy hearing my baby's heartbeat at appointments and as someone else said, they can help to diagnose things that can't be seen otherwise.

I've had a lot more ultrasounds with this pregnancy than any of my others. And without the ultrasounds, I wouldn't have known about my placenta previa or why I bleed so much still at 20 weeks.
