Quoting Just Ames:" Awe thanks! I've been growing it out now for IDK since like 2010 :? It's been a slow process but I'm ... [snip!] ... at a place where I like it and want to do different stuff. Anyway, IDK what my stylist used but I can ask her if you want?"

Please do! I just bought some blue bleach, 30 volume developer, and some protein packs. I'm gonna highlight it on my own since I know how  But, I enjoy having my hair done... because I'm lazy

Quoting Ashley Jean ♥:" When I got mine done a couple weeks ago, it was supposed to be blonde...but it didn't turn out that way. ... [snip!] ... than what it really was. This is now...hopefully my next session gets it more blonde... :? (Excuse my gross face...lol) "

That's what mine looks like when I don't leave it on long enough and/or don't use strong enough developer. Like the copper highlights lol. This was my first full highlight:

And I felt like it was more blonde the first highlight, honestly. The second time... the highlights were like, yellow. She was more in a rush the second time, though :?

Quoting Just Ames:" OMG I could never do my own hair. Not even a solid color. I think it's cool you can! But I feel you. ... [snip!] ... my blonde. The dark part is Redken "Pecan" and I absolutely love the quality of this color. Makes my hair so vibrant and soft."

I love it :D I think my stylist uses Paul Mitchel... and the color fades SO damn fast :(

Quoting Just Ames:" It is to me as well."

She was kind of irritating me that day. She KNOWS full highlights take quite a bit of time. And she kept trying to get them to process faster (which clearly didn't happen, since it's yellow). I was not too pleased.

Is she using a toner in your hair?
That will get rid of any brassiness (yellow/orange) in your hair and it make the blonde look blonde.

Yep. She used toner both times.

Do you know what color she used for the toner?
It still looks brassy to me in that 2nd photo a few posts above.

Maybe try going for an ash blonde instead of what she's doing now.

I have no idea lol. I assumed a violet based toner to cancel out the orange... but it's yellow now. :x

I think a blue violet would have been a good choice.
Maybe if you go over it with a toner again?

Idk, maybe one of the stylist moms will come in here.

I've always had to strip it. Then bleach it. Then tone it.

& I'm sure.if you toned your highlights again with a blue violet it'll tone them out. I always just used silver lights shampoo when I was blonde or the dumb blonde shampoo bc its purple & my blonde wouldn't be brassy!

She didn't strip it :( My friend had a million colors on her hair... black, brown, red, purple... and her hair stylist stripped it, and then did the bleach. Her highlights came out SUPER blonde. I think I may change hair stylists....

That might be a good idea!

Find one that'll use the pravana stripper or rusk elimin8. They smell rancid but as I've told you they don't damage your hair lol.

Okay :) It's hard finding someone good :x I found this girl because SO knows her. But... she's as old as I am. And has been doing hair for a few years now. That seems awfully fast to get your cosmetology license, doesn't it? A few girls I graduated with JUST graduated cosmetology school and got jobs like, last summer. I figured she was as old as SO (23) but no... she's 21. IDK. Lol.

I feel like I did a better job lightening it.... Of course some spots are a brown color, but at least they aren't black! And ignore my frizzy dead ends, I need a trim BAD

Depends how old you have to be to get it there? Or maybe she counts her years in school as well? Lol I'm not sure but here you have to be 18 & have 1800 hours for the full cosmetology license. However there are career tech high schools that offer cosmetology programs too.

& your hair turned out great! It looks really nice :) good job!
