What are some good ways to motivate her to WANT to play?

Novali weighed around 60 pounds when she was 5. People would tell me how concerned they were and I would politely nod and try to hide my annoyance. She eats healthy meals with treats every now and again, she is very active and the doctors (I took her to a couple different pediatricians) said she was fine and that the weight would handle itself since she had no medical issues and was otherwise healthy.

She is now almost 6 and has lost a good amount of weight out of no where... no clue how it's happening as we aren't doing anything different really.

Take her to playgrounds near by, have races, treasure hunt was an awesome idea, find a sport she likes. Maybe you can encourage her mom to put her in dance, Karate, or take swimming lessons or something!

after my parents got divorced I gained a bunch of weight and ended up being 120 lbs at 8 years old (third grade). I was teased and then became anorexic in 5th grade until probably junior high sometime. I am about 140 as an adult when not pregnant. It is a sensitive issue..sometimes when I see very obese kids I wonder if they have an underlying medical condition causing it since we all know skinny kids who eat like horses...but the issue of being chubby as a kid always hits a sensitive bone with me because of my experiences.
