I am officially term!!! WOOHOO! Zero chance of preemie!

Now the worry turns to whether my dumb cervix, which now has scar tissue, will allow her to come out.

I'm 1.5cm dilating but not effacing, so my doc is going to sweep if I want next week and try to use his hand to break up scar tissue while he's up there. It won't put me into labor, but I'm contracting a lot so he doesn't want me to have the same problem i had with my son (also due to scar tissue) where I was in early labor for 3 weeks and active labor for 36 hours. My docs were calling for a C last time and I barely had the energy to give it one last try (and I DID IT!!!). Even though I still got my natural birth, I'd rather not risk a super long delivery as it makes baby more likely to become distressed, so a sweep/stretch next week seems like a good middle ground.

My last topic is maternity pics for my stalkers :) those are just the sneaky peeks, so I'm anxious to get the rest (some BARE belly!) so I can post them. And get my full size files to print!

Your pictures are amazing! And congrats on making it to term!! I have read your story several times, and bawl my eyes out everytime! I would say that if the doctor thinks it will help, then go for it! I don't think it could really hurt, besides making you crampy!

Have you talked to your obgyn about isn't evening primerose capsules vaginally to soften your cervix? My midwife recommended them with my daughter(2nd pregnancy) and they helped. 2 capsules vaginally every night. I was in labor less than 5 hours lol

My doc said that now that my cervix has healed from the stitch coming out, I can try EPO.

BUT---it's not nearly as effective on scar tissue. Research says that the scar tissue pretty much doesn't react to it.
