i haven't been able to get on BG alot lately due to a few reasons. baby's birthday has come and gone and it was a great success! it was so much fun. i was stressing out all day about it because it seemed like it would never come together. at one point, i definitely vowed that was her first and last birthday party. i changed my mind, of course :)
in other news, she is walking and toddling around all over the place. she took five steps at her birthday party, which was the day after her birthday. a few days after that, she just began walking. she gets better at it every single day and it's so much fun to watch her learn new things. she's babbling up a storm constantly, also! AND, apparently she's tall enough, and smart enough, to open our front door. while SO and i were putting up the groceries, she slipped off to the front door and opened it completely on her own. it stays locked at all times now :)

anyway, here are some pics from her birthday party!

i felt the same way. don't let it stress you out too much. i hate it when things don't go the way i planned, and 9 times out of 10, they don't go the way i planned anyway! i definitely haven't gotten better with that. lol. a ton of things changed, though, and new plans were made at the last second. we were going to do hamburgers and hot dogs and ended up with ten pizzas instead! multiple cakes fell through and we ended up buying the cakes and cupcakes at the grocery store. the one i ordered looked terrible, but tasted decent. her personal "smash cake" in the pictures just happened to be made already when we went to pick up the rest of the last minute supplies. her smash cake was probably my favorite thing about her whole party! was going to go with a theme, but that went out the window. was supposed to have a birthday outfit made for her, but never heard back from the lady. a bunch of people weren't able to make it that had previously RSVP'd, but we had plenty of people anyway! some of my friends realized how stressed out i was and came early to help me decorate. it was beautiful that day, but breezy, so my friend's 4 year old son played balloon round up most of the afternoon. lol. it turned out to be more fun than i could have planned. don't sweat the small stuff. it'll come together :)

Thanks mama! I'm so stressed about ordering stuff (cake, birthday outfit) I can't until I get paid and then I'm terrified it won't be here on time. Also we are sending out about 70 invites (we both have huge ass families) and I'm scared either people will RSVP and not show up an we will have way too much food or that nobody will RSVP but show up anyway (happened at my babyshower) and we won't have enough food.

My biggest fear is that it will be a crappy day. We are having a luau themed and we rented out park of a beach on a lake an we paid $200 and we had to do it atleast a month in advanced so we have no idea what the weather will be like. We have to have it rain or shine because they don't offer rain dates.

my thought with the no RSVP and showing up anyway with the food situation was that i was getting enough food for who i knew would be there. if you wanted to show up to have a good time and wish baby a happy birthday, that's fine. BUT, if i didn't have enough food, i was sorry for that. we ended up having JUST enough pizza with just a bit left over. it worked out great. most of the cake was eaten also. we had like two bags of chips left and one drink left. lol. it'll come together, don't worry. and if you don't have enough food, you can always do an emergency pizza run if you want ;)
