I am wondering if anyone here has filed good cause refusal to cooperate and what proof you needed in order for them to stop pursuing child support.

Do you have police reports or anything to back up your claims? Even if you don't, if you feel that your daughter's life would be in danger, all you an do is file good cause and hope they listen to you.

Years ago I got assistance for a short time. All I had to do was say I wanted to file good cause. I never, ever received word from the Courts regarding it and my benefits were never stopped.

If he doesn't want to be in the child's life at all (and never has), I wouldn't go after child support, especially if you don't want the child around her father.

She's not rying to but when you receive state assistance they want info on childs father to go after them for help.

OP I say just tryy your hardest and maybe talk to a lawyer about your options if they do go after him and if he does try for visitation.

Can you just say you have no idea who the father is?

I am thinking about just saying I don't know who the father is. I am just scared I could get in trouble for that if one day even years from now he asks for a DNA test and they figure out I lied. Is it better to go after good cause oris it better to say I don't know who the father is?

Lie! Do whatever you can to keep them away, honestly. Even if he does go after dna you could say you didn't think it was him because of timing or whatever. But either way I don't think you'd get in trouble if he does in the future go after a dna test.
And delete your comments, and once I see that you've seen this I'll delete mine.

Don't lie, if it comes out later, you could end up owing the state thousands of dollars that you've gotten in assistance. If you have legitimate reasons for not wanting him around your child, then just say that. You didn't answer my first question... do you have police reports or witnesses to any of the violence?

i wouldnt lie when it comes to assistance. if they ever found out they would come after you for EVERY penny they ever gave you plus you could go to jail. not worth it IMO.

There is no proof you know who the dad is. Like I said, IF anything ever came of him just say you didn't think it could have been his because of the timing.

Nope no police reports, I don't have a lot of solid evidence is what i'm worried about. ZHe did steal alcohol from someone i was babysitting for and go into a weird rage in front of her.
