I went for my 6 week PP appointment and my doctor decided it would be best for me to start taking celexa for anxiety/depression. I really don't want to but I want these crazy mood swings and scary thoughts to go away. Does anyone else take celexa? Or do you have advice on how to cope? I feel like I belong in a psych ward with the thoughts I have...

I took Celexa for PPD! It worked great! And I didn't have any side effects! It made me a little sleepy the first few days I took it, but that was all.

That was one of the main concerns since its just me taking care of my son. How long were you on it?

I want to say about six months, then I weaned myself off. I've fought depression off and off most of my life, and a lot of days I felt like I should restart it.... but now I'm pregnant again, so that's a no-go.

I think you'll do great with it! Give it a couple weeks to build up in your system and start working.

A lot of people also have good luck with taking a B-complex vitamin, if you're unsure about doing the prescription route. And of course, you can do both!

I hated it, but everyone is different! You can try it and see how it works for you! Good luck, mama.
