Last week I went to my OB appointment and he said that my cervix was low and I was about 1 cm dilated. I went to L&D because I was bleeding for a really long time (which I knew was somewhat normal after exams and intercourse, but didn't know it would last that long) and had some pretty consistant cramping (which I had no idea was normal). The nurse checked me and said my cervix was up really high. She didn't say anything about my dilation, but I'm confused...after your cervix starts dropping, can it go back up? Lol, it sounds like a stupid question, but I didn't think that it was possible...

Yes, your cervix can go back into it's previous position including going from being dilated to not being dilated at all.

I know that dilation can change. I just didn't know about the position of the cervix lol. It just seemed so weird to me.
