I just had my DS 7 weeks ago and today is my PP appointment, I am getting birth control but debating what kind..

I was thinking about the Mirena since I suck at remembering to take the pill but Idk because of the risks with it..

I have nuvaring and love it. you put it in at the beginning of the month and then depending on how long your periods typically are (mine 3-5 days) you take them out like 2 days in advance because it takes a day or two for your period to start (so ex: I take mine out around the 23rd or 24th) and then put it back in after it ends. It's a lot easier than the pill. The only thing I came across so far was an irritation in the first month from my body trying to get used to it, but it only lasted a day. Other than that, can't even feel it.

Im not a fan of IUDs. But Ive only heard bad things about Mirena.

You could do the Paragard IUD. It has no hormones.
Or theres the Nuvaring. I loved it. Had it before the Implanon and plan to switch back soon.
The implanon(implant in your arm) has been great as well! Ive loved it. I just want my periods back lol. Thats why Im switching back.

Just talk to your doctor about your options and what would be best for you.

You can take them out sooner or later.. They say every 3 weeks but my dr said it will work longer than that. Some people choose to keep them in 24/7 so they don't have a period but i'd be afraid it'd mess with my fertility.
