I know nothing about the fitness pal thingy, but if you're asking if you can eat just 500 calories a day the answer is no. I mean you could, but that is horrible for you and you would never maintain any weight loss from it.

I am saying for the net calories.

say I eat 1200 calories, but I burn 500, so the net would be 700 calories.

I never used my fitness pal but if I'm reading this right you are only eating 500 calories a day? If you are you are starving your body it's unhealthy and if you ever up your calorie intake your body will store fat in case it goes on starvation mode again.

net calories you ate minus calories you burned. If you burned more than you ate, you will have a negative net number. If you ate more than you burned you will have a positive net.

You need to up it more at the end your body is getting only 700 calories and it needs around 1200 just to work correctly.
