Knowing I had a mass bigger than an orange attached to an ovary the size of an almond was scarier than knowing what was potentially inside of it.
I was sick after the removal because they couldn't remove it whole and it spilt open inside of me, so day surgery turned into two nights in hospital. That bit was gross.
But honestly I find everything mentioned in this thread fascinating not 'freaky'. The human body is so amazing!

Perhaps that was folklore? Or something else? But dermoid cysts is just base genetic material. They can grow anywhere not just on ovaries.

I saw a documentary on her. It's really sad to think about.

I know a radiology tech that saw a case of this personally. She was having issues completely unrelated to it...and they said since it wasn't causing any problems....they just left it there.
The woman was 60. I couldn't just leave it there personally.
