so I took my glucose test last week which I passed but then found out I have low iron. Any ladies have this issue have he recommended liver which I can't find at any of my stores. I did buy prune juice which is making me sick yuck.
Any other high iron natural things I can take? I would prefer not to take iron pills if possible.

Red meat and spinach. Yes the prune juice will give you the runs. The spinach might too if you overdo it. I learned this the hard way the night before last. And all day yesterday. And today. But definitely steak. This is your excuse to make hubby take you out to a fancy steak dinner ;)

As far as the liver... Every grocery store I've ever been to had chicken livers... They will be in the meat department, by the chicken, in a little white plastic tub. According to my mother in law you put them to soak in a bowl of salt water first thing in the morning, then at dinner time drain the salt water & cover with milk. Mix 1 cup of self rising flour with your desired seasonings (I like soul food seasoning or Tony Chacheres). Dip the milky livers in the flour mixture & deep fry. I can eat those til I HURT.

For the spinach... For fresh I use 2 bags. Melt a stick of butter in a large skillet, add a couple cloves of finely minced garlic (or use the stuff in the jar LOL) add the spinach, cover and cook on medium, stirring occasionally, until it's all wilted down and done enough to suit. I like mine not quite all the way done, but it's a matter of personal preference.

Beans are apparently pretty good too, as is most cold cereal. At least the grownup kind anyway LOL

Best this is dark green leafy vegetables, beets, red meat and if you combine something high in vitamin C then that will help you absorb the iron.

My doc wants me to eat beef liver last night I did steak fajitas since I couldn't find the liver. Mmmmmmmmm anything deep fried sounds good what do you usually dip them in. I love spinach but my list says I would pretty much have to bust my stomach to get the amount I need in a day. I really do not want to have anymore prune juice that stuff is no joke lol.

I was severely anemic with my first pregnancy. High iron foods didn't touch it...I took a product called Floradix...you will find it if you google it...we ordered it online. Worked well and no side affects.
