Quoting bia.:" God no  SO told me that women who have vag births are loose, I said "uh don't you know they get ... [snip!] ... back up after the baby is born" and he's like "uh yeah, they get stitches don't they" so how can they be loose..........?

He's a wingnut.
I was SO scared that my vagina was going to be "loose" after being cut one end to the other and having a 9-lb baby come out. I waited longer to have sex because I was scared of disappointing SO... but when the time came I think honestly it was tighter than it was before. It was really painful and took a while to work back out to the way it was. LOL. Even after 3 kids, it isn't any different.

The only difference I notice is internally... like my cervix is WICKED low and my vagina is a lot more shallow. It isn't any tighter or looser, though.

Um lol, I didn't say it wasn't normal, did I? I'm pretty sure I didn't.

My first was a csection because of being breech, because of that I have had to do repeat csections . I am the biggest advocate of vaginal births in the world. i wanted it so badly for my self!! I went to all the hollistic and natural labor classes that my hospital offered, and I couldn't because she flipped at 36 weeks. it has always killed me a little bit.

This will be my 4th and last csection. I am electively getting my tubes tied.

Until you feel like you've lost something so important, or feel like your body is defective and broken and you're a failure as a parent because you can't do something that women have been doing for thousands of years you won't understand. So yeah, I'm serious. And I'm sure OP feels the same way.

**eta**
Not trying to be a b***h about it, but for a lot of us who feel like failures because we couldn't do something so primal, its a sensitive topic.

Actually, a lot of women used to die in childbirth.
Sure, women have been giving birth for thousands of years, but back in the day they used to prepare as if the mother was going to die. Often times it was expected!

And even before doctors were around women still gave birth. Its a primal instinct, we were meant to reproduce, our bodies are meant to reproduce. Just because women have died during childbirth doesn't mean it isn't a natural thing that our bodies were designed to do.

YES! And hate it when people try and convince you otherwise too. I hate having to be limited to "enter certain number" amount of births because of my C-sections. It would be nice to be able to go the safer route. I'm jealous that I "can't".
