Purees, or BLW? Arks Mama! ಠ_ಠ 1 child; Utah 2401 posts

Which one did you do with your LO?
Did you switch it up?
Why did you choose purees/BLW?
If you did purees, did you use your own food and just mash it up? Or did you go with Gerber, etc?

My child is 6 months old, and we are just kind of browsing around with what would be ok or for the best. As someone who couldn't breastfeed for very long because the lack of knowledge with my condition, I just want to make sure I make the best decisions the rest of the way...Any information of the two would be GREATLY appreciated. We aren't exactly starting him on solids right now, we will probably delay a little longer depending on how he reacts to avocado. (Mushed AND cut up)

What's BLW? I started things like mashed bananas and Avacado at that age. He had his linger grasp down around 7-8 months and i have him table food. Soft fruits and veggies that he could pickup ad gum up easily. I found givin th what we eat they are less picky. My oldest had gerber foods till she was like 13 months ad she won't eat anything!!!!!

I did purees with my first, we used gerber or earthlands best.
Just because I really didn't know there was any other way to go about it.

With my second we did BLW, I did a ton of research and just decided it was best. Mostly because for the first year of like breast milk or formula is all a baby needs nutrition wise. Solids are just for fun/practice, and to rule out food allergies.

I preferred blw over purees.

BLW is baby led weaning.

I did puress with my oldest and BLW with my youngest. BLW was by far easier, cheaper, and healthier.

Ohh okay. :) BLW is good, I've learned more about that recently. I deff agree good isn't necessary the first year, but at a certain age my kids where literally begging for food. I think 6 months plus is okay to start little foods if baby seems interested. Good luck
