Heh, I've seen a school completely lose track of 2 foster children in a high-risk (ie mother had tried to kidnap them before and the school was warned she'd try again if opportunity presented itself) situation. They were pulled by the state and put in a school cloer to our house and their old school not only failed to register the paperwork notifying them of the move, but called over a week later when one of the teachers finally noticed she was down a student, to tell us the kids would be reported as chronically absrnt to child services.
Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" I got threatened with court when my 5 year old who was in his first year of preK missed 4 days of school "
Dr kept getting sent home from school for being sick ( the drs said they couldn't find anything wrong) then I got truancy letter saying that she missed over the allowed days
When I was a kid, if my parents forgot to call the school when I was sick, the school would call to find out if everything was okay.
When I was in high school, the school never bothered with calling.
With my kids school, if we don't call by 9-10, they will call us to find out why the boys aren't there. They do the same for all students.
