Girls are going through puberty around 9 now and it's only supposed to get worse.

I got my period around 11/12. It was right around my birthday and I was in 6th grade.

I started my period when I was 9 but that was over 20 years ago, lol. It's definitely not a new trend but it is rare.

I was told in my A&P II class that it's due to the hormones used in meat.

Oh, hmm. Well that might be the case for today's generation but certainly not mine, lol. Our meat was caught, skinned and butchered by us.

I've heard things like Johnson and Johnson products cause early puberty and also milk.

Milk has hormones in it. The chemicals used in everyday products could also have an affect.

Strange because I avoided meat by age 6 and I got AF the first time at 9 or barely 10. There most be a LOT of hormones in there to do it to someone like me...

Obviously everyone is different. I'm sure there are abnormal cases, like with the 5 year old girl. I'm just sharing what I learned in class.
