I had post partum depression with my son back in June of last year. It was kinda expected or so the doctors said since he was born early and passed away shortly after birth. Anyways I guess what I am looking for an answer to would be Is post partum depression a recuring thing with pregnancy or you can be depressed after one but not the other? My little girl will be here in a little over 2 weeks and I want to prepare myself so to say!

If you've suffered from depression in the past, it's likely that it will happen again. Have you talked to your OB about this already? Has he/she mentioned putting you on a low dose of Zoloft? It's considered one of the safer options for pregnancy, and is safe for breastfeeding as well. I wish you the best.

I have an appointment with her tomorrow but she isn't going to be the one to deliver. But i could say something to her since I won't be seeing my specialist until the day before my c section. They may say that it was due to circumstances that I had it before and wait and see.

I didn't have it with my first, but had it pretty badly with my second. I was still able to breastfeed while on effexor XR, and I only needed it for a short time.

I'm so sorry about your loss. Loosing a child is so difficult. I don't feel like you have PPD. Could you have just been suffering from the loss of your child?

I had it after my first but not after my second. It's not guaranteed you will get it again.

The doctor said ppd. Im not 100% sure! I just wanna be prepared I honestly don't think it was PPD. I think it was pretty much from losing him that I got into a funk! I am fine now but i am worried about after I have this LO May 30th!
