My SO wants to look into getting on medication for depression....he has been doing freaky things in his sleep and is constantly in a bi polar cycle when awake.

He has been bike riding and taking 5 hour energy to stay awake at home. He has a tendency to fall asleep randomly after getting home from work.

I am so nervous because I was on many different medications for several years for anxiety/deppression/sleep disorders and responded badly to them. I am nervous it might make things worse but I hate seeing him like this. He forgets things too....when he takes vitamins he will forget the whole evening 0_0

Thanks for reading

When I was first injured, DH was getting his foot in the door at the company he works for, so he was working some crazy hours. He started taking Zolpidem, a sleeping pill, and the only negative effect he had from it was that when I would try to wake him up within the first few hours, he would respond by thinking he was working and treat me like a client. Even though his hours are normal now and he doesn't have to be awake all the time to care for me, he still takes the pills to help with sleep and really has no negative side effects from them. I would have him talk to a doctor and see what they say. Everyone reacts differently so your husband may have to try a few different things before they find something that works for him.
