Weve told a couple that were friends with and they get/understand it (but theyre swingers) but when discussing it among others most apparently view it as degrading or abusive

That is why we don't tell anyone. I don't want people to think he is abusive or making me doing this. I am actually the one who brought the idea up, and I am happier now with our relationship then I have ever been. Its weird but belonging to him makes me feel so complete.

Sort of.

Not in every day roles, but I am very submissive to my SO.

And we're starting to explore it more deeper.

I've always been into the lifestyle.

Quoting .Colleen.:" You're better off looking around your community to see what groups are out there locally. They are pretty much everywhere."

Thats not entirely true. In my city, the only group we had here disbanded about 6 years ago or so.

It's unfortunate that people keep it taboo. It's such an incredible lifestyle.

I am new to it. It is something that I always wanted secretly but somehow was always the more dominant in relationships. When I met dh something was different and I felt comfortable enough to confess all my desires to him and it was something that he was interested in as well. So we are both new to it and exploring things but so far I love it.

The level of trust is amazing. I have never had that before. It was really difficult at first giving myself and all power to him, now it feels so natural.

That's odd
I live in a very small conservative northeastern state and there are a few "societies" out here.
You just have to know where to look.

and anything outside of the "norm" is taboo, not just sm relationships.
We have sampled quite a few things and pretty much anything that involves more than 2 people having vanilla sex exclusively has the "taboo" tag.

I think every "alternative" relationship has aspects that are "incredible" to the right person

EXACTLY!! and to me, giving all that trust and "power" to him makes the sex 10x better

I've been in it for..oh..14 years? But always 'one handedly', as in, I explored it without my former SO (with his permission).

So this is the first relationship I've been in that's actually the both of us exploring together.

Found an AWESOME book, which I can't remember what it's called but if you're interested in it, I'll send you the name.

I live in a fairly large city as well. I mean, I know there are couples who practice it here but there's no specific group either-which is kind of crappy. Not a lot of support here.

And it sucks that anything other than traditional relationships are taboo. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and yet, as a whole, society refuses to accept it.
