Mirena or Paragard *Sandra* 2 kids; JOSHUA TREE, California 157 posts15th May
So I want the Paragard, but I'm allergic to metals. Like fake earrings, sterling silver, the metal on belts and whatnot. I;m terrified I'll be allergic to the copper. I have a consultation with the doc tomorrow about birth control. The mini pill isn't strong enough (made me bleed all the time), and isn't the Mirena the same hormone? I don't know much about birth control. I'm breastfeeding so I just want something to not decrease my supply, and I don't want something to make my moods worse, because I'm currently an unmediated bipolar because of breastfeeding. Has anybody had any good experiences with the iuds? Or had the Paragard work and was sensitive to metal?

I had the Paragard and I am also allergic to metal but I never had an allergic reaction to it. However, I ended up having it removed after 5 months because I bled nonstop on it. If it wasn't for that then I would have probably kept it because I didn't have any other side effects from it.
