ackward question about a boy.... Allissa Specht 35 kids; Essexville, Michigan 5426 posts

My oldest is 5. He got up the other morning (at like 4 AM, was still half asleep) to pee. I thought he was messing around in the bathroom, so I got up to check on him. When I walked in, he was standing over the toilet trying to pee, but couldn't. He had *morning wood* for lack of a better way to say it politely. He looked at me, and said "Momma it's broken!" I didn't know what to say and just kind of backed out of the bathroom. Is it normal for a boy his age to have this issue?! And, how do I talk to him about it if he ever asks further questions?! I don't know, was hoping to not have to deal with this for awhile!

yes my oldest has been getting erections since he was in diapers. Tell him to sit down and pee when that happens if he has to go that bad.

Uh my son starting having these questions when he was 3, lol. I just tell him "it's OK baby, just give it a minute or two and then you can go pee".

I agree with the others- completely normal. Try not to make him feel weird about it, you're his mama :) He needs to know that he's not a freak of nature.

Yeah, that's all you can do really. Just sort of blow it off like it's not a big deal. Like a "happens to me all of the time" attitude but not really
