What makes you think my children won't be properly educated just because I don't drink?

You know damn well you worded your post the way you did for the response. A simple' I don't drink.' would be sufficient yes.

Instead you worded it like you won't drink around your kids based on your morals, what do you expect people to respond with?

Eh, I never had a drink of anything alcoholic until I was 20. But I can teach my children how to be responsible with alcohol once they are old enough.

Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" Prepare for your children to rebel hardcore. "

Why? My parents gave me this example and I never felt the need to rebe. I do my best to practice what I preach in all areas. I don't want my kids to smoke, use foul language, or do drugs either, so I don't . I don't see why drinking should be any different in the way I teach my children.

I worded my response the way I did because I say what I mean, and the OP asked for opinions.. You're right, I don't drink in front of my kids because of my morals. I don't see why that would offend you. You don't have to raise your kids the same way I do. Do you not raise your children based on your morals? I'm not understanding the hostility from you. Maybe you should reread my post as simply my opinion instead of assuming that I had negative intentions.

Your response was irrelevant. Not only do you not drink in front of your kids, you. don't. drink.

You're welcome to have that opinion.

Also in reference to your last post. Of course I raise my children based on my beliefs of right and wrong.

I am honestly not hostile, more so just not big on redundant.

Really? The "You know damn well..." post was because you thought I was being redundant? Okay.

I'll just add that even if I had the occasional drink my response would have been the same. Not in front of my kids.

But you don't drink.
So saying that you don't drink in front of your kids, and then being almost surprised that people would respond in that way, is kind of beyond me.

Obviously things are perceived differently over the internet. Honestly, your responses to the other posters and I, came off ( to me) as if you are pretending to be oblivious. Like you didn't know that responding that way would have someone question how healthy it is to limit exposure to alcohol.

But none of that had to even happen. because you don't drink. lol My point.

Not at all.
I occasionally have wine with dinner.

To me, your first post came off with the "holier than thou" attitude. Just my opinion though.

Quoting Kaleighshaleigh:" I wouldn't drink in front of my children at all. That's not the kind of example I want to set for them."

All things aside, small children don't know what alcohol is, so drinking an alcoholic beverage in front of a young kid isn't setting an example one way or the other. :P

<blockquote><b>Quoting Turd Ferguson:</b>" What example? That grown ups drink? Ohh you should do the exact opposite and hide it."</blockquote>

I agree why hide it. They see adults drinking responsibly is a example to set if you do drink.
