Update on prego kitty MamaTiffy[20-weeks] Due August 2; 2 kids; Sunnyvale, CA, United States 8725 posts

Just an update from my last post. (in case you don't read it, this cat came to me as a rescue from my brothers vet clinic, and was already pregnant. I decided against spaying her during pregnancy which would abort the kitties)
So, she's still pregnant, she was hiding earlier for like 2 hours, then came running into the kitchen while I was making dinner. She then spent the next hour pacing the house, looking around in random areas and is now laying underneath my bed. I'm hoping she has em soon, she seems pretty miserable and lays around all day for the past 5 days. I'm not sure if she's overdue but I'm going to take her in to the clinic my brother works at on Monday if there aren't any kittens by then. I can still feel them wiggling around but much less than a few days ago, mostly because they have no more room to grow. Does it sound like she's ready to have them? If you've had a cat have kittens did you notice anything in particular in your cat right before she went into labor or the day leading up to it?

This is what my kitty looks like (she wont let me take her picture but this one is almost identical)

And this is what daddy looks like:

So I'm thinking the babies will look like this:

Sounds like any day now. We didn't know our cat was even pregnant until mom n dad heard tiny news from under their bed one morning. Sounds similar to my bunnies- hiding, laying around. That's how they were when they were preggo. The friendliest got mean at the end lol and the mean one got cuddly. But I wouldn't worry too much try to make her a spot to have them so u dont wake up n find them under a bed or something. A low litter pan w some towels or blankets like flannel receiving.

Ive made her a couple of nests but she shows no interest in them. I looked under the bed and could visually see her contracting so I'm thinking it'll be within the next 24 hours. I plan on moving her out of there a littler later on so I can somewhat keep an eye on her and make sure everything goes ok. I don't want to move her and disturb her but would hate for there to be a complication that I could have helped or taken her to the vet (kitten getting stuck, mama being tired and failing to pull the sac away or snip the umbilical cord, etc)

Well, mine just escaped when someone left the door open for a moment to go outside. I thought she'd be ok cuz she was shut in my room but my daughter opened the door to our room and she ran out :( Praying she comes back soon, it's super cold outside and I don't want her out there having them outside.

Ummm that's not a good thing. I really hope you find her before she has those babies.

That's good to hear! We've been keeping our cat indoors for just over a week now, and it's horrible lol. I'm just terrified that if we let her out that she'll crawl under the house and "lay her kittens" as my son puts it.

Haha cute, everyday my daughter asks me if she can see Nikita's kittens and everyday I have to tell her that they're still in her belly. Then she'll look at me all puzzled and say "well are they ever going to come out!?" lol

She's still pregnant... but I have no idea when she was in heat

My son informed me the other day that he's not excited for his baby brother to be born. He's too excited for the kittens to be born to have any room left for his baby brother!
I would go crazy not knowing a rough estimate on when to expect kittens haha, I'm going crazy knowing a rough date as is!

I had a cat who looked like that... she had babies with an orange cat.

There was only one like those kittens in the picture, lol. The majority were pure orange or white.

When she had them, nothing really out of the ordinary happened leading up to it. She just started nesting. I could feel the kittens wiggling in her for awhile before she had them.
