Oh also - socks! I had to send hubby home for more socks, my water broke over my last pair and I cannot be without socks, ever, even with slippers on. You never know how many pairs you need when your away from home so just bring the whole collection basically!!

Depending on the weather, you want to keep their toes warm. I put socks on my DD even though she was born in July, but they kept the hospital freezing! Also, they can scratch themselves with their thin sharp toenails...

Oh, and you would also use the socks on their little hands as little mittens. I tried those mittens made for infants, but my daughter was crafty and took them off in about 5mins! lol

Yeah I meant for me too. I cannot be without socks even at home let alone in the hospital. That's usually the thing I forget to pack even on holiday, always end up having to go buy some more so if you wear socks, make sure you pack lots as you never know how many you will need or how long your stay will be!

Scratch mittens or baby socks are a must have too lol

One thing I was glad I brought was a nail file, so I could file down my son's fingernails so he wouldn't scratch his face. It's a lot easier than using nail clippers.
