Thursday I had my membranes stripped at 39 weeks trying to prevent an induction on Tuesday since I ha GD. I was 2cm dilated and 40% effaced doctor stripped my membranes and by 3pm I was having non painful contractions with achiness in my thighs so I knew I was going to end up with back labor like I did with my first daughter. My contractions at this point were 7ish minutes apart. Around 6pm I was outside talking to my neighbor and noticed that they went from 7 minutes to what felt like one of top of the other still not painful but the achiness had increased and spread to my back and sides. By 7pm they had become somewhat painful and were still one on top of each other so I told my mom we should go in (SO is overseas). Got to the hospital and took me into triage was at 3cm and 50% effaced. By now they got very intense and extremely painful. They were coming back to back with what seem like no end. Come to find out I was having coupling or doubling contractions which are 2 contractions back to back then a 2 minute space (which I ended up having my whole labor). I was in triage for 3 hours when they came to check me again and I had gone to 4 cm and 80% effaced. Was taken back to a labor room at 11pm and was finally given an epidural which I planned on going natural but the way the contractions were there was no way in hell I would be going natural. My labor with my first daughter was only 4 hours total including pushing which was 50 minutes, So I thought that my 2nd child would come quicker....lol. I was progressing only 1 cm every 2 hours. They checked me a few times throughout the night and by 6am I was at 7 cm so come 8am I went to sit up in the bed to readjust and had horrendous back pain it felt like someone took a sledge hammer to my back and I started crying at this point Laya's heartrate dropped into the 60s and stayed there for 5-6 minutes. They checked me and my water bag was bulging outta me the nurse barely touched it and it exploded like a water balloon. Laya was right behind it. Everyone started panicing because they couldn't get her heart rate back up. The barely had enough time to set things up and 2 pushes 1 contraction later she shot out of me. Came out bluish grey and not responsive after a few minutes they were able to get things back to normal. Come to find out she dropped from -1 station to a +3 in a matter of minutes causing her to be shell shocked. Overall my labor was 12 hours with 2 pushes. The whole process was extremely intense and so much more painful then my first.

Ohh my goodness she's beautiful! Sounds like a tough labour and delivery, but I'm so glad that they were able to get her stats back up! Congrats :)
