Sciatic and labor help please! Historymomma 2 kids; La Grange, North Carolina 403 posts

Ok, so with my first I had horrible sciatic pain during my labor, stabbing pains in my left leg was pretty much all I felt. I wanted to cut my leg off all during labor. So, now I am a couple days past 38 weeks and when I do have my incredibly irregular contractions I can already feel the pain shooting down into my left leg. I didn't think sciatic pain was going to be a problem with this labor because after about 17 weeks, I have not had any problem with it.
My question is, does anyone know if there is anything I can do, at this point before labor starts, that will help alieveiate the sciatic pain? If anyone has ANY suggestions I am open, because I am more fearful of the sciatic pain then anything else.

Maybe going on your hands and knees will take the baby off the nerve? Maybe the squeezing is causing baby to push on the nerve. Goo luck!

Go see a chiropractor or an acupuncturist. Both should help.

Tricare won't cover chiropractor costs, and will they see you this late in pregnancy? Acupuncture would be wonderful, it did wonders for my knees and hives, however we are stationed in Podunk North Carolina, and no one here is certified or reputable. :(. Thanks!

True Tricare will only cover a chiropractor visit on a military installation or at VA clinic. Yes they will see you this late in pregnancy, they can use an activator to adjust you.
