Quoting Stl mama:" My kid was crying or screaming (fake) as we were walking today. I told her to knock it off. It's not ... [snip!] ... it off. It's not acceptable. I really thought something was wrong but she was just playing. I tell my kids to keep it down."

Hah I told them one day when it'd been going for 3 or so hours that "SOMEONE BETTER BE TRYING TO KILL YOU BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY REASON IT'S OKAY TO SCREAM LIKE THAT!!" well I yelled it from my back balcony so no one could prove it was me lol

Quoting I'm His Amy He's My Rory:" He's the maintenance guy here so talking to the complex is kind of a no go lol. I'd mentioned it to ... [snip!] ... running wild. I mean in the winter his kid id running around no shoes, no shirt, and in the summer he just runs wild more. :?"

Yeah that's hard lol. Honestly, our apartments have a "quiet time all the time" policy. They encourage us to report noise disturbances. So, I do. Honestly, it's mainly because the Mom just doesn't pay attention. Her kids are 5-9 years old, and she allows them to wander the complex by themselves. They harass the blind guy, trying to make him trip and fall, and laughing when he does. It's disgusting.

I didn't ask him to make his kid be quiet. I asked him to talk to him about not SCREAMING like someone was killing him. Big difference.

Quoting Monique and Dominic's mom:" Unless the child is being attacked, kidnapped, in a dangerous situation, it's not okay for a kid to scream. ... [snip!] ... not okay for a kid to scream. I would go talk to the kid's parents and advise them to read 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' to him."

This is exactly what I was taught as well.

Depends.

1: What time of day is it?
2: How is the scream, like a having so much fun scream or mad murder scream
3: Where are there? Park? House? Funeral?

My kids are loud but they would never scream like that. I really don't know what I would do in that situation. Either way though kids are going to play and be loud. There really isn't anything she can do about it. If she calls the cops they are going to tell her that he can be as loud as he wants between such and such hours. I really dont think it's worth the argument. I mean really how much can a kid scream for no reason?

You'd really be pissed at the person who called if your kids were screaming like someone was harming them and disturbing your neighbors? Kids should be taught to be considerate and conscious of other people around them. Kids don't need to be screaming like that anyways, they're going to make people think they're being harmed.

Repeated screaming like that is not okay. FFS, common courtesy, anyone?

I'd call CPS or the cops. That's ridiculous. When DH & I moved into an apartment downstairs the neighbor above us had a loud ass barking dog. I tried knocking on his door, telling my landlady, & seeing when he was walking the dog. I could never catch the guy but I knew what he looked like. One day the guy was in the office when I walked in(Zeke was 3 months old. The dog woke zeke up 3x the night before so I had only had 2 hours of sleep)so when she asked why I looked so tired I rudely said ''Someones f**king dog was going crazy & woke my baby up 3 times so I didn't get any sleep because someone isn't a responsible pet owner.'' It hasn't happened since lol

No not at all it's not like you screamed back at him or the father or went off your nut at them. I have so much trouble with my neighbours kids, they will be playing ball and hit someones car or window, etc but the parents will only tell them off if its their own cars or house thwy are hitting. The children and parents have no respect for anyone else in the street but hey how can anyone expect a child to learn what isn't being taught to them!!

Well my kids know better but I wouldn't want my neighbor calling me telling me how to parent period. If she can hear him the father surely can but isn't doing anything about it so calling him isn't going to do anything but cause problems.

CPS really? That's just stupid. That is not a reason to call CPS.

A child is being left outside unattended constantly. That's no reason to call? He's out there screaming bloody murder because no one is choosing to parent him :? I'd hate to see how they do when their kid is inside since they don't do anything outside with him. If he was kidnapped or got hurt then they'd be in serious shit as well.
