Yeah, I mean thats just what they told me. Not going to say they are right. Just going by what I was told with my daughter.

It makes me mad that Dr's say stuff like that... why would they tell you that? maybe so you won't call if your LO seams to be in pain when you stop giving them the meds? Maybe you will think well my LO seams to be in pain now that we are out but the Dr said 7 days, so I will just leave them alone.

I am not a pediatrician but I have spent a lot of my life studding medications. I don't know why 2 drs would tell you that. I am not saying that they didn't tell you that. I am saying that I think Drs need to be honest with parents!

This is a very good list to use for medications/drugs if you ever need to know... it also has recreational drugs if you ever need to know. ;) You never know in a few years you might want to drug test your kid! I hope not

Oh i agree, I have had my fair share of Dr.s who are not up to par. To many actually. Just recently I took my Daughter into the dr to have her leg looked at, she hit it off the merry go round at the park, and it left a large and i mean LARGE lump on her leg, and it was all discolored. She told me it felt weird when she walked on it like the bone was moving. So I took her in. The Dr came in looked at it, said it was fine and when i asked if we could atleast do an xrays to make sure, he said no, that it was not their policy to do xray on children. BUT if it continued to bother her, or she got worse in 48 hours to come back in, and they would do one then. He then looks at the nurse... and I kid you not says to her " if she does come back in and it is infact broken, she was never here" I was like WTF? They didnt even have me sign any discharge papers or anything, they said they didnt want the hassle of the paper work!!

OMG! serious, was she ok?

I broke my foot a while ago at my friends house. We had been drinking and I was very drunk when I did it. I could not drive to the hospital and I have a very haigh pain tolerance So I tried to sleep... when I woke it looked bad. I drove to the Er walked in, limping. I said I broke my foot and need to see a DR. They said oh someone will be with you blah blah. Its not broken if you are walking. I said oh its broken, they were very "its probably nothing, if you want pain meds blah balh"

Then the xray guy walked me back to the xray area, I was limping and took the picture.(you know how the x-ray tec's are not supposed a say anything, but they can tell when somthing is broken) So after the x ray he says we need to go into the next room to wait for a Dr. I jumped of the table to walk over to that room and he said "NONONO" don't walk on that... lets let the Dr see the x rays first. he put me in a wheel chair.

Turns out the bone was almost sticking out of my skin and we had to wait for a surgeon to come I told them... No I don't need pain meds I am fine. I am in my 30's and they always think all I want is drugs.
