Had surgery today! [JadeLee] 1 child; Minnesota 12190 posts

Well it turns out that rather than having scar tissue in my uterus it was on the outside from an emergency lap in '03 I had for an infection in my fallopian tube, that one tube was blocked.
The first opinion doctor was just going to treat for Endometriosis if my Hysteroscopy was clear.
My second opinion doctor wanted to do a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy with a uterine lining biopsy and a tubal dye study.
I am so glad everyone on here gave me the courage to seek a second opinion! This could have been why we had 7 or 8 cycles of failed TTC. We are now taking a break from TTC until after we get married next year!

Has anyone had this scar tissue within their abdominal cavity? Or know anyone who has? I was pretty out of it but I will now have tons of questions for my Gyno.

And now I should probably think about a low hormone birth control.
Has anyone got Mirena or Paraguard and had it taken out in a year? That just seems kind of stupid to me, but whatever works.

I had Paragard and ended up taking it out after only 5 months due to nonstop bleeding.

Lol I hate those stories! I could always try it after we conceive, then I am not risking my fertility.

Yeah, if it wasn't for the bleeding I would have probably kept it since I didn't have any other side effects with it. It sucks because it was basically my only option for birth control since I can't take estrogen due to health issues. I tried the Depo but that totally sucked and I don't want something to stop my period so the Nexplanon/Implanon and Mirena are definitely out. My DH is getting fixed when I am half way through this pregnancy so at least I won't have to worry about birth control anymore after this baby.

I had endo, scar tissue, two blocked tubes and a lovely uterine fibroid with a long curly tail. I had other stuff too, but it wasn't anything that would make it hard to conceive, the stuff listed above was. BUT, a few months later (we didn't try for a while after my surgery because I wanted to heal first) I was pregnant with my daughter. :) So good luck hun! Glad you got that second opinion.

Awesome! I think you told me about your curly pigs tail in another thread too!

I could have swore it was endo with my heavy bleeding for 2 days and then light spotting for 10-12 days. But I guess not.

That side is typically the side I get Ovulation pains on too, so it would make complete sense. Now I just want to try for a baby now lol. So I want to get something I can't stop taking on my own.

Endo can be practically microscopic and still cause some of the worst pain, but scare tissue freaking sucks too. I will say, give yourself 4 or 5 months to recover before ttc. The first few weeks to recover, and then rebuild your abdominal muscles again so your belly holds up a heavily pregnant belly. I had a breast biopsy two months after my other surgery and ended up with staph so I didn't do much of anything after that because my poor nerves in my boob were very sensitive and unhappy so working out was painful. About the time my boob got better I got pregnant. But if I had it to do all over again, I would have pushed through the boob pain and firmed up my belly muscles first. But I am blessed either way. :) Anywho, good luck hun!

Yeah we are planning a wedding for a year from tomorrow, so maybe I will get off BC 2-3 months before that.

How are you feeling?? At least they did find something. It's always sucky to hear women go through the surgery just for the doctor to find nothing!! I had mirena and I hated it. It hurt so bad, I bled terribly and the pain lasted the 5 months it was in. It also gave me heart flutters.

Hope you have a quick recovery! :)

The Hydrocodone makes me sleepy but it also takes away the pain.

I feel better than yesterday, but I still feel like someone took a mixer to my insides. They said I should have been able to take care of DD today, but a friend is watching her instead so I have another day.

i have had scar tissue in my abdominal area. i have had half a dozen surgeries, one of which was just to repair the scar tissue & repair my only remaining tube. but on the bright side, i went on to have another healthy baby after all the surgeries. i conceived about 9 months after the last surgery (5mths ttc of that). & without any drugs or assistance. so good luck!

Sounds great! But you have had to have surgery every time before getting pregnant? That sounds like a lot of work!
