I have a 1lb left of ground beef for tomorrow. What should I MAKE WITH IT?
I finally gave in and let the kids try hamburger helper tonight and ew yuck, what a waste. (we dont eat from a box) I'll stick to my own recipes. But anyways the uncooked leftover meat for tomorrow any suggestions on what to make?
Tacos, meatloaf, ziti, meatball subs, burgers, spaghetti, nachos... I cant think....
Taco salad, tacos, spaghetti, chili, some kind of soup, stroganoff.
I love meatloaf! We make it with ground beef a packet of onion soup mix, bread crumbs 1 egg a splash of milk and salt and pepper with a little garlic powder and put it in a pan and bake at 350 til Cooked thoroughly! Yum!
Do you like cabbage? I make a soup with a bunch of cabbage, maybe half a head, carrots, potatoes, celery, oregano, basil, tomato paste, seasoning salt, and a lb of ground beef. Fill water past veggies, add seasonings and paste, when all soft and good add meat and cook until the meat is done, correct flavor to taste. I don't have any exact amounts though. I just do it all by eye and flavor. So I don't know if that helps.
All those we pretty much eat all the time. I would like something new. um not really sure what tho.

Yes but the kids dont and I dont have cabbage her at all, only buy it in the winter for cabbage rolls. lol
Ground beef and cabbage casserole.
This recipe is similar to what I do. Minus the pepper, minus the cheese, and a whole cabbage might be too much. You can also use fresh sliced tomatoes. Add a sliced potato. To the meat I do a dash of Worcestershire, garlic powder and a bit of soy sauce. I just cook the meat and seasonings and then layer everything on top and cook until potatoes are soft.
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 head cabbage, about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
- 3/4 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese
Directions for cabbage casserole with ground beef
In large skillet, cook ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green pepper until meat is no longer pink; drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, salt, and garlic powder. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Cut cabbage into 6 wedges. Cook cabbage in a small amount of boiling salted water, covered, for about 10 minutes and drain well. Arrange cabbage wedges in a lightly buttered 9-inch square baking dish. Pour ground beef mixture over and around the cabbage wedges. Bake cabbage casserole, uncovered, at 350

You can take it out. I've tried with a bunch of different veggies and it's always really good because of the seasonings, tomato paste, and beef.

We dont eat tater tot casserole, chili is a winter only food around here kids and I dont eat potatoes. lol
Thats why I am stumped on what to use it for. lol
I am trying to google stuff but I dont see anything we would like or have all the stuff for and going to the store is not an option atm, not till tuesday when we have a car. lol
