My son is almost 4. Hes autistic. He wakes up screaming every single morning no matter what. He just screams and screams...sometimes for hours at a time. Its taking a toll on me. Iwant to put him back in his room until he quiets down. How can I get him to stop screaming

I am not sure the severity of his autism but maybe there is something he needs in the morning that he is having trouble communicating to you?

I am not much help either. I have worked some with kids with autism but I know it is a whole different situation when you have a child with autism.

Is there anyone to give you a break for a morning or two?

I don't want to wake up next to him...that doesn't help anyway lol. Thank you though for trying.

I've tried everything. Having his breakfast ready, his fave show on tv.....nothing helps. He just screams.

I'm not of assistance.. I just want to tell you that youre not alone. My son does this ALL the time. They are around the same age. I think the transition of asleep to awake is just really overwhelming. Stay with a strict routine though! It helps them transition easier. Same thing every morning.

I'm sorry you have to go through that. It must be overwhelming for you both. Just stick to a routine the best you can. Best of luck to you.
