Extreme fatigue and bfing? Is something wrong? Nymphadora 98 kids; Arizona 3120 posts

I'm starting to be concerned. I bf my daughter and never had more than mild fatigue. I actually get more sleep now than I did with her because she sleeps through the night and my son only gets up once at night (and we cosleep so it's not a big production anyway). But for some reason, I am constantly fatigued. And not just fatigued, extremely fatigued to the point I fall asleep several times a day and barely have enough energy to do normal housework. Did anyone else experience this? What was wrong?

Also wanted to add that it has only been this way since late March. Prior to that, I never had issues with my energy level.

Are you getting enough calories?

Other thoughts are maybe low iron or pregnancy?

How old is baby?

I was extremely tired with DS when I wasn't eating healthy/enough.

I'm eating a fairly well balanced 2000 calorie diet. My iron levels were just checked because I was anemic throughout my pregnancy, but they are normal now.

I better not be pregnant. I will do a home vasectomy if I am.

I feel the same way sometimes. It helps if I.... Eat well and eat enough.... Take my prenatal vitamin....drink lots of water and do at least some cardio at some point in the day. I also get extremely tired in the spring from allergies

Low iron can make you extremely tired. Could also be a thyroid issue. Also, while breastfeeding your body releases oxytocin and prolactin, both of which relax you and can make you sleepy, so if you're nursing a lot, that could be a reason. If you're really concerned, maybe call your doc and have a CBC drawn.
