You're essentially saying that married couples need to go to court or they have no rights to their children.

I was telling her that things are not like that here. Here both parents have equal rights until a judge says other wise not neither parent has rights until a judge says so.

That's laughable. You don't choose that he doesnt get custody. It's determined by the judge
