I hate the idea of jrs. I think that kids should get their own names and have a chance to make it their own. Thats just my personal opinion though :)

We didn't go with a III because DH and I both think it's lame  He did want to name our oldest after him but agreed to use his first name as our son's middle name. He doesn't like his name either. Why would you want to give your child a name you don't like, that's my question to these men.

Anyway... what about Jamison Wayne? The actual meaning is "son of James"... but hey, Jimmie/James... you know.

I really don't understand why they would want too! lol Actually, I like Jamison and his late grandfathers name is James! This could work! thanks!

This reminds me of my 1st DS. His father is a Jr and his whole family insisted on my son being the 3rd. Needless to say I had 2 boys by him and all they got was his lastname. I don't regret cause he turned out to be a horrible father. I think he should be satisfied with his middle thats fine.

If his grandfather's name is James, is his father James as well or just Jimmy?

He isn't perfect but he is a great father! We will see how the naming goes.... Thanks for understanding!

After I looked at the name meaning....I think it's cool how much more of a family name it could be! A lil boy in my daughter class is named Jamison and it was the first time I had ever heard it! Thanks so much! :) I hope SO will consider it!

Jameson/Jamison Wayne is nice without him being a III.

Absolutely no reason to carry on such a ridiculously redneck name. I flat out told my husband long ago there would NOT be any Jr's. This time his family tried to to get my FIL's middle name as the baby's middle name. I love my FIL, but I hate his name. I made my husband a deal. He could use any name he wanted as the middle name, as long as it wasn't his dad's. I don't love his choice, but it could have been a lot worse.
