I have been depressed about my weight for years, but I can never find any motivaiton to do anything about it. Even the few times I lost 20 or so pounds I lost my motivation and gained it all back.... I just went to see family over the weekend and had a ton of pictures taken and I look so disgusting.... How can I be ok looking like this.... So I need to do something different. Here is me now at about 263 pounds:

I can not continue to look like this. I hate myself.... I need someone to get on my case and tell me "b***h get the f**k moving" It just has to change....

I use myfitnesspal and stay pretty well within my range, but I am pure lazy... I start to workout and jsut give up faster than I started.. I rearanged my bedroom so I have more room to actually do something. I am restarting a 30 day squat challenge, and I want to look up some yoga videos on youtube. I walk a few times a week, but its just getting less and less every time... I just can't believe pictures like this don't motivate me..

You just have to start slow and make lifestyle changes not just diet. If you change habits and your lifestyle then you'll not relapse. I do mfp if you want to add me go for it. I try to leave comments on people's stuff as much as I can. Laurajessup

If you're not motivated there's no point in starting a weight loss journey. Try to find out why you're not motivated, or maybe approach it from a different angle. The health angle for example. Replacing all your sodas with water is a good start. It's better for your teeth and if you lose weight on top of that, that's a good extra. Just take baby steps and if you feel like squating your ass off later on, you always can. But start working on the inside out, not the outside in. Good luck from one girl lacking fitness motivation to another ;)

What about zumba? I tried a video and I love it, but I wish I could find more pop zumba dances

I actually love Zumba. But I don't like doing the videos like on the computer, and I don't like it on the wii because there isn't enough pop songs. I love doing classes, and when I lost 20 pounds 2 years ago it was while I was doing Zumba at the ymca 2 days a week. But where I live now there isn't a Y and they do do classes a few days a week, but they cost $5 a day, and I can't hardly afford gas going to the college and back as it is, I can't afford to do the classes here in town.

I've been trying for years to get back to my pre baby weight. I always lose motivation. You have to really want it. Now I've been working out almost every day the last month and trying to eat better. I'm slacking lately on the eating good part but I basically drilled into my head I have to workout every day with like 1 day of rest. I have different videos I use. I just got a new Jillian Michaels one today so I don't get bored of the same ones. Most her videos are nice because they are 20-30 minutes long. I just make myself do it. Every day when I lay dd down for her first nap in the morning I do my video then shower before I do anything else. Now its just become routine. But I just got fed up with being chunky and i don't want to look like this anymore. You have to really want it or it won't stick.

Do little things to fit extra steps in...Park at the end of the car lot at walmart and take stairs instead of elevators whenver possible. Get a huge clear thermos, fill it with water and mark off how much to drink an hour. Get veggies and fruits prepped and in the fridge so it's the first thing you see and if you want a snack you grab a handful of grapes. Or freeze the grapes and grab a few if you want something to munch. And get some WW dessert type things to reward yourself. Don't try to do it all at once

thats me. :) 18 kids; Edmonton, Alberta 3307 posts

I am right there with you mama. I had a car wreck 4 years ago and can no longer run at all or walk for long periods of time. I gained a lot of weight and then had DS. And have gained more weight.
At my heaviest, 2 weeks ago, I was 264.4
Because my fiance never worried or cared about my weight gain I didn't either. Until all of the sudden I realized how out of control I had gotten.

My GYN prescribed me to Phentermine. I know it is not for everyone, though. It is an appetite suppressant and energy booster. I have been taking it for two weeks and have lost 13lbs in these two weeks.
The day I started taking it I also cut out everything to drink except for water and the occasional cup of coffee. The small meals I eat are all healthy foods. I also started bike riding everyday.
It is amazing the motivation I have from seeing my results. It is only making me want to work harder towards being healthy and happy with my appearance. I also made a promise to DS to be a healthier mom. I do not want to break that promise.

Like I said it is not for everyone but I discussed it at length with my GYN and decided it was just the start to being healthy that I needed. Maybe you could talk to your doctor and see what they think.
