maybe dilute the tea gradually so every one they get is weaker than the last? if they really refuse maybe you could look into getting decaf so you don't have to worry about the amount of caffeine they're getting?x
They are young enough that they will drink it if that's all you give them. It's not like they're old enough to get something else. If you feel like you HAVE to offer some kind of transition, offer them infused water. Slice up fruit, put in your water pitcher, fill with water and refrigerate. I personally was watching a friend's kid who was drinking an entire bottle v8 Splash or Gatorade in 4 days when diluted, his mom didn't even do that usually, and when I ran out of juice I started giving hi water. At first he didn't drink AS MUCH, but after a couple of days he did, and he never seemed to miss his juice.
Your 2 year old drinks tea? You should be careful with that, it inhibits iron absorption.

my nephew is like this. so i totally understand. and i have tried everything to get him to drink it. and literally went all day without anything becuase all i did have was water. but. i finally figured it out.. those kid cups with the cool little straws. i put water and strawberrys in there and told him it was kool aid and because the cup was cool and he couldnt see what was in it. he drank the crap out of it..
I have three boys and they hate water ...the want juice and tea ....one day to be a "mean mommy" i made ice cubes with a dash of food color ....#1 DS loves the color red ...DS#2 loves yellow and DS#3 lovs blue so that was the colors they got ...in water ...as the ice metled the water changed color and they loved it
Quoting Baby Mutilator:" I haven't...But that may be a good idea. My son always liked these: http://www.kraftbrands.com/cry ... [snip!] ... maybe I should start buying those and slowly taper them off the flavor packets."
DH and I use mason jars. Sometimes we mix a couple fruits together like raspberry and lime, etc. It could be fun for your LO's to pick their fruits to put in their drink. They are healthy and so good!

Well good, because hemochromatosis runs rampant in our family.

IDK what that is, but I'm guessing too much iron in the blood. lol If they have that, that could be good in the right amount, but just b/c some of the family has it doesn't mean they both do. But I'm sure you're monitoring that already. :)
My kids are the same way. I just really water down their drinks such as juice and all. Sometimes they still wont buy it. I hate when people think we're exageratting...my daughter is the same way about eating food. She will seriously starve herself instead of eat food she doesn't want. lol
I would cut the milk and sugar and see if they still want to drink it. Lol mean mummy here, my kids only drink water or milk and get cordial or soda very rarely.
Maybe try herbal/fruit teas, as a kid I loved cranberry, raspberry and strawberry tea. It is awesome hot or cold. Or I think it's Chinese white tea, thats really nice, and naturally caffeine free too (you can add milk)
As long as they're not drinking it laying down their teeth should be fine, also a straw limits the amount of liquid that comes in contact with the teeth.
But definitely try and get them to drink water or they'll get horrible kidney problems.

Yeah, I'm really not exaggerating at all. lol
Thanks girls for all the suggestions. I'll be sure to try some of them.
