So today I was out with my daughter and I had to go to the bathroom and when I went and Wiped I saw my mucus plug. So I called my Dr's office and they said come into L&D because I was having pain.

Once I got there they checked me I was at a 1 and started contracting. They gave me a shot to stop Contracting so I wouldn't Dilate any further.

My doctor released me shortly after 2pm and had a perscription filled that I have to take to stop my contractions by pill form and told me that I have to stay down for the rest of the weekend.
My problem is is that my Body is tell me to get up and walk and move. I feel like a kid with add being told to sit still and concentrate.

I don't know what to do I am almost 35 weeks and my Dr still wants to stop a pending labor but by all of Babys ultrasounds he is a week ahead. So by his growth he is 36 weeks in growth.
So I don't know if I should Follow Dr orders or Follow what my body wants to do... What do you moms think?

um, please follow your doctor's orders. A 35 weeker CAN come perfectly healthy, but there are still a lot of risks to the baby to come that early. I'm sure you are anxious, and it doesn't SEEM like a big deal, but those last few weeks are really still necessary for baby to bake.

^^^What they said.

And being a week ahead doesn't mean anything. Asher measured two weeks ahead for the last 10 weeks but wasn't a gigantor like the doctor expected.

Stay your butt in the bed. This question is just.....

i'd be torn just like you.

i'm not a good listener if my body is saying the opposite... and especially when it comes to doctors and my body in labor.

but i'm not going to tell you to ignore the doctor, either. it's still early days for labor to be the thing you want to do.

if i were you, i'd just be normal. not more active... bed rest isn't necessarily all it's cracked up to be either as recent research as shown.

Its not supposed to sound ignorant cause my natural instinct is telling me to be up and walking and moving and my Dr is saying stay down. When I went in Tuesday I had a sharp pain in my Stomach and all she said that it was growing pains and I ended up in L&D that night with contractions. So I don't know if I should follow what DR. says or Follow what my Body is Telling me to do.

With my Daughter I never had any Signs like this My water broke on its own and they had to give me Pitocin to start my Contractions cause they were not starting on their own.
Thats why I am asking cause I never felt Real Labor except for my water breaking.

Lay down. Natural instinct may be to nest, but that doesn't mean it's what is needed. Sure, when instinct was needed as much we HAD to nest because we needed to get shit together for a baby. We don't need that now, thus nesting is really outdated. Also, people like to use "instinct" when really it's just selfish wanting to do stuff. Don't get me wrong, bedrest SUCKS, I know. I did a lot of it! haha However, I'd listen to your Dr. Whats the worst that happens if you do bedrest? Not much> If you don't? You could have a baby that ends up in the NICU. trust me, that's not worth it.

no one is calling you ignorant, hun. I just don't think your baby is ready to come, if its measuring at 36 weeks. That's not even term. Its hard to fight natural instincts. I was on bedrest for 13 weeks with my first, and it was hell. But I still think you should be doing what you can to stop labor at this point.

It isn't being ignorant. It's looking at fact and deciding what's best. What our natural instinct is isn't always best. My natural instinct might be to pull away when I need to get a shot, but I know logically I need it, so I don't. Likewise, my instinct may tell me to get up and do stuff, but if I need to be on bedrest, I know that I have to overcome that instinct.

Instinct is important, but it's equally important to understand what it is and when to both listen to it, and when to use logic instead.
