I have posted about my concerns about my 11 month old son since he was 7 months old. But now, it is getting worse.

Today, he was around my family who we rarely see, and there were 5 other kids around his age (ranging from 12 months to 5 months). Each child was very vocal, interacting with each other, happy, etc. My son, however, sat by himself and ignored all the kids. He also made zero noises other than sqeual (he does not know how to babble).

Another thing I noticed, he has no stranger anxiety. He put his arms up to my cousin, who he never met, to be held. He had no problems being with him and didn't even notice I wasn't around.

Then, in the pool, while all the smaller ones are in their floaties and laughing, splashing, engaging with their parents, my son just sat there sucking on his floatie, completely ignoring me while I tried to get his attention.

My aunt even asked me why he wasn't looking at her when she called his name.

My concerns for him having autism are due to the following reasons:

Does not babble or say any words
Does not interact much with us (he does like when I do peek a boo)
Would rather sit on the floor and play by himself
No stranger anxiety
Separation anxiety at night
Can't wave, clap or point
Flaps arms a lot (not hands)
Rarely responds to his name
Does not seem to know who "mama" or "dada" are when saying "go to mama", etc.

Things that he is doing "normally":

Walking
Laughing
Smiling
Eating food
Puts arms up to be held/picked up
Makes eye contact
Was crawling at 6 months
Standing at 7 months
Walking at 10 months

He has had no vaccines yet but I am afraid to give him any. If he is on the spectrum, will the vaccines make it worse or have no effect? Everyone keeps telling me "every baby is different" and I know that. But most are the same in certain areas and he is not.

I got extremely depressed when people were asking me why he doesn't look at them or respond to his name :(

Is he too young to get him evaluated? What does your Pedi say?

It doesn't sound like its too far off. Mine will be 11 months on the 25th and most of that is the sane for one of my twins.

I don't know- none of that sounds very alarming to me, but at the same time if my dd was acting that way at that age I can't say I wouldn't be a little concerned as well. Some babies are just chillax about life, and they grow up to be chillaxed adults lol. My brother was the same way you described your son. He turned out just fine, actually he is the smartest of all of us! We have always suspected he has minor aspergers though. It has in NO way effected his life though. Good luck!

He said wait until his 12 month appointment and he is "fine". He said he would "definitely" be saying at least two words by 12 months. He still can't even babble ....

I would be concerned as well. It's normal to be worried about your child but I think some of that is normal for his age. My son is 13 months and doesn't really have too much stranger anxiety. All babies develop differently. Bring it up with the pedi at his one year appt.

That makes me feel a little better but I just have the Mommy gut feeling something isn't "right". It's concerning me to the point where I get depressed about it.

Well my mom felt the same way about my brother. Even when she was pregnant with him she felt like something was wrong all the time because he was so lazy and never moved haha. He was the same a baby/toddler. Didn't crawl/walk/talk until well into his 2nd year. No stranger anxiety, he smiled at everyone like a dopey little bobble head and he was super chubby LOL. He didn't make eye contact that well and he spun around a lot like a weird tick that autistic kids would do. But he grew out of it all around 10, and now he's excelling as a vet.

You can get him diagnosed as early as 18 months
