I have heard it but I wore white and have two kids and no one said anything about the color of my dress just how beautiful it was.... It is just an old outdated "rule"

I'm not sure on the actual rule or reason on this one, but I've always heard that White should be for virgin, or first time wedding. I don't really know anyone who sticks to it anymore, though.

Yeah that used to be the tradition but we don't live in that age anymore so it doesn't matter. You want a white dress go for it.

Okay so I just found out the tradition behind it. It's much newer than most of us probably think. Queen Victoria wore a White wedding dress that was heavily decorated to display her wealth. In that day, most people couldn't afford a dress that they would only wear once in their life. But once she did it, people picked up on it.

That "rule" has always been around I think its stupid.
But it's your wedding wear what ever you want

My 56 year old mother got married for the 3rd time in a white wedding dress after having 3 kids and 2 marriages. She never even wore a dress the first 2 times.
I thought that was strange but its about what made her happy not me or anyone else.

It wasn't always a "rule." It became popular with Queen Victoria, who chose it because she felt it represented innocence and purity, and she said it was virginal. Prior to that, most women simply wore a dress in whatever color they chose, except black which is traditionally used for mourning.

Did you know that White was traditionally used for mourning among Royal families up until very recently? One of my favorite portraits of Mary Queen of Scots was her mourning portrait.

You never heard of that? White represents innocence. There's this one country song I love, & it says "made you wait til our wedding night, that's the first and the last time i'll wear white."

I'm wearing white regardless. I just think it's classy.

White is worn in mourning in China. Red is the traditional wedding color. White is being worn now though because of Westerners.

Yeah....I was pregnant and wore white. Do not care. Although I would have been just fine with and ivory dress
