With my son I pushed for 15 minutes, 3-4 pushes. And he was a bigger baby, no tearing or cutting thankfully!

Quoting homes cool:" First I had an epidural and labored in a hospital bed. Second I labored at home and had no drugs. Got ... [snip!] ... up with a very severe tear, and 163 stitches with my first. I was determined to not let that happen again & it didn't!"

Whoa, you are AMAZING! Props on what you endured for #1 and your huge change with #2! I am hoping to go natural w/ my next and avoid being cut again. Any suggestions?

OP, I pushed for 45min with an epidural and unfortunately still had an episiotomy.

It was all about being able to move around when I needed to, and feeling comfortable during labor (for me was being in my own home.) I tried the shower, rocked on all fours, held onto the couch...whatever worked in the moment.

48 minutes with my first. One contraction with my second...so probably like one or two minutes, if that. I was already dilated and ready to push when we got to the hospital. 16 minutes from start to finish - checking in until holding her.. It was intense.
