So, my boyfriend and I have this discussion just about every day or so. He thinks that the girls, my 2 year old and my 1 year old, should have a bath every day. I on the other hand I think that every other day is more suitable unless they do some thing that would really get them dirty. I've been told you shouldn't give your child a bath every single day because it can dry their skin and my 1 year old has already shown signs of what might be exzima... so I guess the question is am I supposed to bath them every day?

I'd side with you on this one. Unless they get really dirty on 'non bath day' then every other is fine. DD has showers with me most days, but I only shampoo her hair every other day so I don't dry her scalp out.

My kids get showers every night before bed. It's been our routine forever. They both have seasonal eczema but the soaps and Aquaphor we use now seem to be working fine now that they're a little older.

If it's a day we stayed inside/didn't go anywhere, etc... bath/shower-time is more for them to splash around a little and burn off some energy before bed :)

nope, I certainly don't bathe my kids every day and they don't stink or anything.
It really is not necessary. When my oldest was little, I did used to bathe her every day but then she kept yeast infections, so we backed off and she has not had a yeast infection ever since.

well, it depends. DD & DS took baths daily til they were 2. now they are 9&7 and DS has to skip days because he has sensitive skin. DD needs her nightly shower, just how she is. her skin is fine. my other son has sensitive skin too.

We do a bath every other day unless they were outside running around because they get sweaty and need a bath.

We only give them baths when they need it, which is about every other day around here. If they needed it daily, they'd get it, but they really don't.

I bath/shower DD every 2-3 days. It depends on how dirty she gets. If minimal, I do take a warm cloth and wipe down the crevices at night before bed.

I think it's really personal opinion. I don't give my 3 year old a bath every day because she is prone to dry skin. And because I'm hugely pregnant and it's kind of a pain... If she were in school or did something to warrant a bath everyday (playing outside and getting filthy, for example) I would totally give her one every day, but for now I just don't see the point. Every other day for very small children is plenty, IMO.

That depends on you and your kids if they have skin problems I would only bath them every other day. DD has really greasy hair and if I don't wash it everyday it gets bad so she gets a bath every night it's part of our routine.

Every other day for us, right before bed-time.

My 5 year old showers every day. My 3 year old gets a bath every 4-5 days or so. obviously more if she's dirty, or if we go to the pool

I bath ds every night. Have since he came home from the hospital. I just don't wash him every time. He gets washed every other night so his skin doesn't dry out. But the bath has always been his favorite and he loves to play in the water. It helps get him clean too.

I feel you on the hugely pregnant thing. I'm due in 6 weeks so it is a huge hassle to bath the girls every day.
