Quoting Jeeper:" She isn't being considerate to anyone. She has so far called 4 people nasty names and been on the defensive ... [snip!] ... never enforced it. So she got teased and it was her parent's fault for not teaching her how to wash properly and often enough."

OMG
This is seriously the last freaking time I'm posting this.

Ravey and I both keep our children clean. Just because we don't throw them in a tub or shower daily does not mean they aren't cleaning themselves inbetween baths. I have never had an issue with smell, looking dirty, or greasy hair. I work at their school...if there was an issue, I would have been informed.

It's not healthy for my kids to take a bath unless they get extremely dirty or sweaty. All 4 have severe dry skin and washing their hair with a daily frequency makes their hair nasty. Just because we don't disclose WITH YOU our reasons for not doing daily bathing doesn't mean we don't have our reasons.

FFS.

"I also went 3 days without bathing her while we stayed at my parents house and guess what she got a bladder infection."

Uh... were you not wiping her after each diaper change? Because getting a bath everyday would be more likely to cause an infection (from the soaps) than not having a bath for 3 days, unless you weren't cleaning her appropriately.

Because I don't teach them? My daughter washes her face, hands, and genitals daily. I don't bathe her, because her skin gets raw, and it takes at least 2 layers off. are you going to sit there watching her scream because she can't even wear a shirt, because YOU feel it's necessary I bathe her daily? She knows proper hygiene dumb bitch. Look up psoriasis and eczema, then holler the fuck back.

Have you taken her to see a dermatologist? That sounds really really painful. I have/had extremely bad eczema on my face and got cream and a face wash that works really well.

I'm sorry, care to tell me again that I'm just saying this because I'm "doing shit wrong and beiing a horrible parent"?

and that's only her genitals. so are you going to sit there and watch her scream, because even your touch hurts her, simply because someone uneducated like you thinks it's gross, and her mom just being defensive? No? Didn't think so.

of course. we spent a year in and out of the best dermatologist in Boston. He's her best friend. However, mixed with the psoriasis, it's a completely different ball game.

I don't have that kind of reasoning.

It just doesn't work for my kids. I can't bathe daily either. I can only go every other day or my skin is itchy and uncomfortable and no matter ho much lotion or cream I slather on, it wears off. All of my kids have the same problem and it gets really bad in winter when it's super dry.

Wow  I am so sorry she's (and you) dealing with that.

Poor baby. I'm sorry for not asking first. I hope you guys find something to get rid of it or she grows out of it!

My 6 and 4 year old get baths every other day UNLESS they are in the pool and covered in sunblock. My 10 month old gets a bath usually every 2 days.

Quoting I♥RYLEIGH:" Does your kids hair get greasy? "

my daughter is 5, I do NOT use shampoo on her or my 2 year old son, they do not bathe every day and omg their hair is not greasy!
Until a kid hits puberty they do not have the hormones that cause stink and oily skin! Some kids maybe do stink, but my two don't.

I have that same issue, we live in Colorado which has pretty dry air and after a shower I feel tight and dry and I hate the way it feels, so I do not shower daily. We grew up in a house of 5 kids, 2 adults ONE income, so we had to shower every other day to conserve water and that has stuck with me all these years, and it works for us. :)

My girls get really bad eczema during winter and the only thing that works is the steroid cream their pediatrician prescribes them. I don't want to use that on them every day for all of the dry weather which, in Wisconsin, is from October until April or May....even June right now is dry.

They absolutely bathe more frequently in summer because they get all sweaty and stuff. But since summer consists of 2-3 months, they don't bathe more than they bathe. *shrugs* It works for us.
