How I knew it was real contractions.... Allissa Specht 35 kids; Essexville, Michigan 5437 posts

I was going through pictures. I came across these on my facebook. They made me stop and think about what contractions felt like for me. Well, I see a lot of questions on here about whether the contractions are "real" or not! LOL! So, this is how I knew the difference.....

Normal, round pregnancy belly (extra hairy since it was a boy!)

And my belly during a contraction (Notice the HUGE lump to the right, my tummy would "twist" almost during a real contraction, leaving that lump lol)

Contractions for me felt like my hips were about to break apart from my body, that's how I knew they were real.:lol::lol:

I had back labor, so contractions in my stomach I didn't even hardly feel lol, just could watch them make my stomach twist.

That sounds painful, but kinda cool. I don't remember how my belly looked.

LOL I contracted for weeks with all of my pregnancies. I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks with DS2 (which is where these pics are from) and again at 36 weeks. I contracted straight through though

It could be for you. Like I said, it would feel like my stomach twisting, and then the lump would pop up. Once the contraction was over, the lump would disappear.

My tummy will get that lump to the right side too and it will be super hard but it doesn't hurt. I feel pressure in my tummy from it though. So maybe I am experiencing BH's? I never really think I had noticeable BH's with DD1.

Either that or just the baby rolling. Everyone experiences them differently. The OP just describes what mine were like, it was the same all three pregnancies.
