So, I keep getting these really bad headaches. My whole head just throbs, feels like it's about to explode. I have a history of migraines, and these headaches quite often turn into migraines. I thought it was hormonal, but I've had a PP period finally, and still getting them. My specialist the other day said that my headaches could be related to my back problems. I had nerve, bone and muscle damage throughout my body. Should I make an appt tomorrow to see my doctor about them? Or wait until I see my OB/GYN and bring them up to him so they can see if it is hormone related? I'm just worried I may need to see a neurologist.
ive suffered from headaches for years and this past year was when i finally was sent to a neurologist. ive been on different medicines to help treat them but nothing has ever made them go away 100 pct. your primary care doc could put you on something though to try out and thats what theyll probably do before they send you to a neuro
Quoting Allissa Specht:" I've taken Fiorcet, Excedrin Migraine with Loratab. Over the counter meds. I've also been on another ... [snip!] ... also been on another med, can't think the name of it right now. I'm breastfeeding so right now, there's not much else I can try"
ooo yea then thatll be tricky. over the counter meds never worked so i had to be prescribed meds to take daily to helphow frequent and intense i would get them. there was one that did help but it would knock me on my ass so i stopped taking it, then they just put me on something else which actually seemed to be making them worse so i stopped that too. i have a follow up appt. with my neuro ina few more weeks to discuss what to do next. i already know he wants to do a spinal tap to check the pressure in my brain so not looking forward to that
I'm nervous to go, but I think I need to see one. I'm having memory problems since I started getting these headaches again.

i ended up getting a migraine so bad (thats what they think it was from) my entire left arm and leg went numb for days. i ended up getting an mri which showed something but my neurologist keeps telling me its nothing (even though my own doctor told me what it could be) so i dont know. i really want a 2nd opinion but im waiting for my insurance to switch over til i find someone knew to goto. id rather get a 2nd opinion before i end up having to get a painful spinal tap done which although that may be what i need to get some answers
Yeah. I haven't really brought them up. But, the specialist I saw about my back problems told me that I may want to get them checked after he checked my nerve function and what not.
