Whoops, I meant to put something here, haha.
But with Cribs & Carseats, or Strollers ect. Would you rather buy them brand new or take a hand out if you have one available. I'm having my first child in Feb 2014. & my sister-in-law has a bunch of stuff she could give me but I'm hesitant on taking all hand-me-downs. I know it'd be best for saving money, but I want my kid to have their own. Just wondering.

Car seat new for sure. I would take a used crib but would buy a new crib mattress.

I just don't want to come off rude about it, cause I don't have all the money in the world, but I would like my child to have their own things.

So buy them a few new things, but get used when you can.

Car seat for sure 100% of the time brand new

Mattress brand new if you can
everything if its in great condition and you're on a tight budget go for it. I prefer brand new when I can but my daughters first crib was hand me down because we just didnt have the money.

Never used a crib, but would probably get new or from someone I know personally. Strollers I'll take second hand, but car seats I would either buy new or get from a good friend.

We don't do used. Period. I mean we take certain hand me down toys. Especially the electronic ones etc because those last. But clothes, baby items etc.. No nothing used. We'd rather be a little tight and have something we know is new. My husband didn't even want to keep gender neutral things we had from our son for our daughter.

Crib, clothes, changing table, pack n play, swing. Those types of things I have no problem using secondhand. I have too. Car seats, mattresses, bottles, breast pump, etc I would buy new for safety/health reasons. JMO.

If you had another boy you wouldnt use clothes that your son wore?

This. And if you can afford a new stroller go for it but if not a used but good condition one will work. Oh and hand me down clothes are a life saver for little ones cause they grow so fast!!! : )

There are limits. Car seats are one thing I would never buy used...or bottles because they are so cheap anyways. Use your best judgement.

IF we have another boy they've already been passed on lol. And we'd probably keep some if it was the right season yeah, but that's different than getting them from someone, or keeping them for a girl.
